Scottish Targe Shield
This shield was used by Scottish clansmen as a defense against both arrows and hand weapons. It was light, maneuverable and often concealed a left-hand held dirk. Construction is of tooled leather-covered wood with brass mounts, screw-in center spike and leather arm straps. |
