Double Battle-Axe
This Double Battle-Axe features a hand forged carbon steel head. It is over 31” long and the blades measure 10”. This weapon is fearsome, but it’s polished finish and studded decoration project in image of grace and beauty. Leather edge covers are provided for safety.
HISTORY
Although man had been using axes ever since the Stone Age, the Double Battle-Axe did not make its appearance until the Bronze Age. It originated from Indo-European tribes known as the Battle-Axe People. The Battle -xe was both a useful tool and a deadly weapon. Because of it diversity, it quickly spread through out the near and far East. Battle Axes were used by Germanic barbarians against the Roman empire, the Scottish fighters of William Wallace and the Gallowglas Celtic mercenaries. |
