1896 Mauser Automatic Pistol
The Mauser was the first semi-automatic pistol to see wideespread use. It was first manufatured in Germany in 1896. It?s funtionality quickly made it one of the most commonly used pistols and was the favorite sidearm of Winston Churchill. The main characteristics that distinguish this pistol are the magazine forward of the trigger, the long and protruding barrel, and the handle shaped like the end of a broom handle, hence the nickname of "Broomhandle." |
