Native American Tomahawk
The word tomahawk is believed to have originated from the Algonquian verb otomahuk, which means to knock down. The earliest tomahawks were simply stones fastened to wooden handles. They were used by Native American Indians to hunt and defend their lands. This tomahawk is beautifully crafted by Navajo artisans and has a polished stone head that is fastened to a leather wrapped wooden handle. Each tomahawk is hand crafted and features a unique combination of decorative feathers, beadwork and horsehair. Average length is 12 but may vary. |
