Medieval Swords:
It was during the medieval times that the sword acquired its basic forms. The medieval sword of European chivalry often had a large hilt and a large protective pommel. The swords blade was straight, double-edged, and pointed; it was fabricated by repeated firing and hammering, a process that converted the iron into mild steel.
